I was just thinking since our art topic is pretty slow if we wanted to start an art workshop or something. Basically a person who knows stuff about the art subject can put some "lessons" here on the board, and whoever was signed up for that "workshop" can put up pictures of their drawings or whatever, so they can get advise from their friends and all that.
What do you think / what would be a good one to try?
P.S. If you want to show people something that is cool too, hint hint.

Cool...I like that idea.
I can draw, so I could help out with drawing questions.
Also, I would like to learn more about how to do computer graphics.

I'd like to learn more about computer graphics too.
I'm a painter (portraits mostly),m so I'd be happy to give help there.
And I'm pretty good at most yarn things

, and used to run a craft supplies shop, so I know how to use all those fiddly things too.
This is a great idea JR. (for once)

Well, looks like this posting has ground to a halt, so I have a question to pose. How to you overcome fear when it comes to painting or creating? I love to draw and paint, but I don't do it much because I'm scared it isn't going to turn out. Since changing from watercolours to acrylics some of it has subsided because if it doesn't work, you just paint over it. But still, I don't understand what holds me back.
When I was in Grade 12 my art teacher encouraged me to apply for art scholarships, but my parents told me that artists starve because there's too much competition. They told me girls should be nurses because if there's ever another world war they need nurses! What logic! But I guess if I lived through the depression I may think the same thing! Not! Anyway, maybe I fear failure. What's your take on it? Any artists out there who hesitate to make a commitment to charcoal, paint or other media because of fear?

Dianne, you gotta let the creative juices flow, baby. It can't be created if you don't put the tool to the paper. The tool being pencil, charcoal, paintbrush whatever. It's like God's kingdom isn't going to grow if we , His tools, don't get on out of the toolbox and shine His light through us.
Does that make ANY sense. I think I better go eat something.

Y'know, Epiphany, you'd be better of having some-one teaching you one-to-one right there with you, that way you can be walked the way through......there must be some-one who can help you.
