My family judges me by my music. They don't listen to the words, and they make fun of me and laugh at me. I just had an argument with my mom when she heard me listening to Underoath. She says "it sounds like it's from the pits of hell". my mom and my sister were making cracks about it, and they really hurt me. It's impossible with them. I told them not to judge people by their appearance and they cracked up. What's wrong with them? Can't I just enjoy listening to something that isn't offensive, but is more my style? I don't make fun of my sister's hymn cd, or my mom's celtic music.

i remember playing Horde for my mom...she said it sounded like static...she also thought it was evil until i made her sit down and read the lyrics....same thing with Possession.

i think a lot of 'older' adults have been way too influenced by the media..i mean in the '70s and '80s people were saying that ELO and Styx were satanic...how absurd. now people think all rock and roll, but especially metal is 'evil'. my mom hated that i listened to that stuff....one day i said...'well, hey, if its ALL bad i might as well get some Deicide and stuff, right? no point in listening to the christian stuff, since the SOUND is what makes it evil'....she didnt criticize it much after that.

My mom has no clue I am into goth stuff, and I can't imagin if I told her. I am not hiding it from her, she just hasn't realized it. I was showing her how to play MP3's today, and she told m to click on the one called underoath . Underoath is pretty mild compared to some of the stuff I listen too. My mom said she thinks she is pretty much of an understanding mother when it comes to stuff like this yesterday. Well, today she proved herself wrong. I think it is dumb to be against something youdon't have all the information on.

show her the lyrics...if she says something about the vocals not being understandable tell her that you can read along with them and then understand them or something. chances are she wont ever like the music, but more than likely she will start accepting it...i mean, its a whole lot better to be listening to death metal with christian lyrics than someone like eminem

I had a talk with mom (after another argument). We made up I guess. She says she's just worried I am going to go goth. Uh oh. That's a problem. She doesn't want me to get into 'satanic' metal. I know a lot more about metal than her . I showed her the lyrics to some of the songs and she is still a bit skeptical, but I didn't expect her to fully understand. I am glad she cares though.

Not that I've seen. They aren't very well known, so I dunno if you can buy em on the net. I got UndergrowndRR at a local store called BlackBuzz and I burned a copy of HD from my bro. He must've bought it online somewhere.

totally. They are really good. Try to get a hold of URR's 'delete' CD. Maybe someday you can find them on Amazon. Not yet though, i checked.

what are the vocals like? are they comparable to any other bands?

URR -They have their own style. Very edgy, and kinda stuttery. I think it's very cool. I've never heard any band scream quite like URR. URR has 3 guys.

HD- more of a techno, very upbeat, they throw around different styles. It's hard to descibe them, because they sing in so many different styles. A lot of bands' songs sound a lot a like, but these guys are always changing. HD has 2 girls and 3 guys.

what label are they signed to?

not sure. I have em on my computer at the moment. I'll check tonight and ask my bro about HD.

when i printed off the lyrics for angel below, i gave them to mom mom and said "this is for you". She read it and tears started welling up in her eyes. She thought I was writing those words to HER. I felt so bad that i worried her. But now allis better cause I wrote her a mushy poem for v-day.
