My sister just bought her CD. I thin some of the songs like "sk8er Boi" are kinda cheesy but a few are ok (in my opinion). I'd say the tunes behind the words are best. Avril is really going places though. I'm more into punk rock

Yeah she definately doesn't sing punk , i have listened to my sisters CD and it definately isn't punk, i think she sings really great, and she has her own style, and doesn't get caught up in dressing less, like when she did a photo shoot she would only wear her own clothes and wouldn't let them dress her sexy, now i think that is cool.

No, No....you have all got it wrong...it's all how you dress...
According to a Punk expert:
QUOTE
Someone told me that punk & emo had something to do with music. How funny is that? What would music have to do with anything?! I mean, come on! That's just silly.

Hey, Ho, Let's go!!!! I love the Ramones, also The Sex Pistols. It's all about the British punk

Nov 26 2002, 09:42 PM
Um...the Ramones were from New York...
But the Clash were British, and very good...at least their early stuff.

hehe. YES, the sex pistols are great. And the clash rocks ... THE CASBAH! hahahahaha (ohhh the corniness!!)
Even though defining 'punk' is sort of silly, here is my shot at it:
Nowadays, if you dress like a punk, you ARE a punk.
NOT!
Punk is a lifestyle, not purely clothing and music. <-- does that make any sense? I used to be quite into punk, but now I don't care. I think it can get rather silly ... I mean, when you think of 'punk', you think of a 15 year old kid rebelling against the rules. That's all it really turned out to be for us.

actually now its more like a 14 yr old 'sk8er boi' that listens to bands that sing about girls and play power pop...truly sad.

My opinion doesn't count here since i'm just a stupid dumb blonde "teenie bopper" chick who doesn't know anything. I don't know what metal sounds like, and i don't know good music. i wish there was an "angry face" smilie.

I was skater/punk/goth in my highschool days, listening to metal, punk, grunge, etc. I've mellowed out quite a bit, but I still love all the same music, but I've just expanded my tastes.

Avril's Grammy Screw Up
Teen pop singer Avril Lavigne put her foot in her mouth when reading the nominees list for this year's Grammy Awards - by mispronouncing David Bowie's surname.
The "Complicated" Canadian made the mistake of rhyming the moniker with 'howie' rather than the correct way.
She was mortified by her error because of the legendary status of the British rocker.
When told of her mistake she winced, "Oops! I knew that was going to happen, I knew I was going to pronounce someone's name wrong." So much for the pop chick's rock cred.
